I know more about my family history today than I knew two weeks ago, including relatives I didn't know existed.

I had a roommate that used lemon juice for deoderant. I'm assuming it worked because he never smelled particularly bad.

What do you know more about than you did 2 weeks ago?

1.) That $600.00 (the amount of the Bush bribe... -- err, "Economic Stimulus Act") is just about enough to buy a pretty durned good bicycle.
2.) That I have a soft spot for animated movies about robots (okay, that's more an affirmation of something I already knew; but you get the idea, all the same)
3.) That even at this stage in my life, I am still capable of being totally and completely irresponsible.
Hey-- ... at least I'm consistent.

Between "coating" as an ingredient and the possible laxative effect, those Edy's things scare me! I know today and did now know previously that there are Japanese Kit Kat's in a multitude of strange flavors.

Swell Maps practically invented swell maps, in the way that Al Gore (really did) practically invent the internet... in other words, surf forecasting hardly existed back then, [which of course is assuming that they didn't just mean 'groovy' maps], but now you can access US Navy swell maps, and surf forecasting has quite a few successful business models. ...But then, I prefer to think of Traffic's line in Paper Sun as "Pitching lips to nowhere" (like when the lip of a "hollow" wave pitches), even though it sounds like it may actually be "Hitching lips to nowhere" (though that doesn't make any sense, except maybe for herpes). Anybody know what the official line on the derivation of Swell Maps name is?

Having looked into it meself, it does seem like the Traffic line is indeed "Pitching lips", and - given the name of one of their albums and of some of their songs - it's a good bet that their countrymen Swell Maps had surf on their mind as well. Interesting given how important the Shadows were as an early 'surf guitar' group. I even once saw Prince Charles described as "the patron saint of British surfers" [when he wasn't grooving to Status Quo?]. Maybe it's cultural bounceback from Australia, where surfing is a much bigger part of the national consciousness than it is in America.

That seems like something 2fs would know.

"coating" as an ingredient

All the finest recipes call for "coating" don't they? Don't they??

Few people know that I was once a member of Swell Maps. The credits list me as Equine Johnson.

I don't (wanna) know about figuratively... but, given that you are, if I recall, a musician, I have to go ahead and ask if you're not kidding about the literal parts.
