I had a great day at Coney Island on Saturday despite that I was only close enough to hear one band properly. The crew that set up the sound at the Main Stage should be strung up with guitar strings and left to dry like beef jerkie. If you set up speakers 100 yards back from the stage you have to rig a delay so it syncs somewhat with sound from the stage. At any given point from halfway back it sounded like 2 bands were playing simultaneously. It was shameful. Unless of course you were in front... The Siren Fest though will always be overshadowed by everything else going on at C.I. Mmmmm cheesy fries.

I keep on forgetting that you live within spitting distance of Coney -- I only went there a couple of times when I lived in NYC. Peculiarly (or perhaps not, considering this is me I'm talking about), I have more vivid memories of Coney Island from a show I worked on almost a decade ago that had an interview with Joseph Heller in it -- the last he ever gave, I believe.
At any rate, it looks like fun; I enjoy a good sideshow (and a good freak, for that matter...)
