Just cuz John Lydon claims to have been appalled by Chrissie and other visiting American rockers drug habits does not mean she was necessarily on heroin, but, quasi-conversely, just cuz we were kidding about an elephant rehab center being for heroin withdrawal here a while back does not mean that that could not happen, as evidenced by an apparently serious story in today's huffington post.

Hmmph, and you probably don't believe me about the report about a heroin addicted elephant... so check it. But I don't much care if Chrissie had that in common with the Go-Go's; it was just an excuse to get to the elephant.

John Lydon's bio was entertaining at points but really repetitive... like he told a bunch of stories over and over and his co-writer copied all of them. Most of all he is a virulent gossip. Nothing nice to say about anybody which simply isn't fair. I saw the elephant story though. Said pachyderm is clean now! Yaaaaay Heffalumps!

i think john lydon meant nancy spungen (sp?) and johnny thunders and the heartbreakers regarding the introduction of heroin to harder drugs. chrissie was all about alcohol and weed, which all the london punks already used.
