Not to be confused with Britney Spears of Destiny.

I don't know if I agree with this assessment of introversion but it may be a question of semantics. Introvert and insecure aren't necessarily synonymous. As the blogger notes, there are many enigmatic, successful introvert/leaders. Perhaps the person writing in is more insecure than actually introverted. (though certainly not all insecure people are introverts though those who aren't can be really irksome). So I think the blogger, despite that I agree with her, hasn't addressed the issue that the person writing has raised. There will always be a dearth of opportunity for those not secure enough to promote themselves. I don't see a solution there.

Tonya for Veep. The original Barracuda. (And Heart better not complain, if they know what's good for them. Though maybe they could get C. Love and her dubious connections to defend them, there in the good ol' Northwest.)

My favorite 9/11 tribute video from yesterday was this cartoon where Uncle Sam breaks up with 9/11 ("I need to move on").

That's pretty good.

Yeah, I haven't felt mournful about 9/11 in a long time, not even during that discussion in the comments section a few weeks back, but seeing that lovely beam thing made me a li'l wistful.

It's hard to feel mournful about 911. I believe that the canonization of all people and places related to the event has had quite the opposite effect than that intended. It's robbed the tragedy of a lot of personal connections, much the way religious dogma and the politicization of church has stolen the spirituality for so many people. Not a day goes by when the day isn't invoked for some exploitative push. We are told: You will not forget. This is how you will remember. We'll help you remember. This is how you should remember. This is how you will mourn. This is how you will commemorate. This is how you will honor the loss. This is how you should vote. This is the best way you can pay tribute to the lost. It's dehumanized and depersonalized everything, not unlike the commercialization of Christmas.
