Funland is one of my favorite albums. Where is he now??? Another of my favorite pop bands from that era was the Fabulous Poodles. I've no idea where they are now, but I suppose my Uncle MacGoogle could tell me. I did see Bobby Valentino doing this really kitschy western swing thing.

MacGregor, I totally agree about Funland and am still mystified as to why it is often described as "lackluster", "difficult", "uninspired" by music critics. To my ears, it was their most consistent album and the one I listened to most.

Well, there was no "Girl of my Dreams" on either of his second or third albums, and that set the bar kinda high.

"Well, there was no "Girl of my Dreams" on either of his second or third albums, and that set the bar kinda high." It's damnably hard going out and crafting a slice of pop heaven right outta the gate. "Judy was an American girl, she came in the morning with the US mail. She didn't say nothin' but she looked pretty good to me." Yep; slice of heaven . . . .
