2003-08-31 - 9:47 p.m. If you ever happen upon a video--at the video store, or on Netflix--called CBGB: Punk From the Bowery and you think to yourself, "Boy howdy, a documentary about CBGB and the early days of punk, what a timeless artifact, what a great idea for a film, I think I'll rent it!" do yourself a favor and...don't. Cuz it's not what it sounds like at all...it's merely a bunch of grainy videos of some mediocre 80s hardcore bands playing two songs each to moshing crowds....no introduction or narrative, no interviews, nothin'.
