If you ever happen upon a video--at the video store, or on Netflix--called CBGB: Punk From the Bowery and you think to yourself, "Boy howdy, a documentary about CBGB and the early days of punk, what a timeless artifact, what a great idea for a film, I think I'll rent it!" do yourself a favor and...don't.

Cuz it's not what it sounds like at all...it's merely a bunch of grainy videos of some mediocre 80s hardcore bands playing two songs each to moshing crowds....no introduction or narrative, no interviews, nothin'.

The only good thing is Kraut playing their awesome "Unemployed", with the catchiest guitar riff ever to come out of New York....
