2003-09-03 - 3:30 p.m. Now playin': The Kills - Keep on Your Mean Side...I like the scratchy, heavy, slurry guitar, and the fact that they borrow from the blues tradition not so much melodically or even rhythmically but emotionally. They do, in fact, sound as dysthymic as Robert Johnson the day before payday. Kinda wish I hadn't seen the liner notes, though, which reveal them as pretentious and art-schooly. thoughts?
