2003-12-29 - 2:59 p.m. Revisiting all my Robyn Hitchcock and Soft Boys allbums as I slap 'em in the iPod. I don't say this enough: I wuv RH. I lurve him. His most mediocre album is still heads and shoulders above most people's best work. Is there a song more perfect than "Insanely Jealous"? I think when all is said and done, he is the songwriter I most admire in terms of balancing surreal imagery with real emotion and humor. And those melodies....And that voice! And that fecundity.
