2004-02-03 - 11:22 a.m. Every time I see that hokey ad for the Olympic hockey movie ("Who do you play for?" "The United! States! of America!") I'm reminded of the 1980 Olympic stars who meant much more to me: Eric and Beth Heiden, the speed-skating siblings. I had a mad crush on Eric, laying the groundwork for my future appreciation of men with gigantic thighs (soccer players, track stars, etc.), and I thought Beth was really cool, too. Plus, they were brother and sister speed skaters! Go ahead, Google "speed skating siblings" and see how rare that is. Where's the movie about them? thoughts?
