Went to see Pleasure Mechanics and Tom Warnick last night at Freddy's. (and, hey, the print version of this article features the Freddy's "class photo")

The PMs insist that they were under-rehearsed, and a few members of their cast of thousands were unable to attend, which called for civilian reinforecments.

Nevertheless, their set was without flaw and left everybody feeling happy and satisfied. As I've mentioned in these pages, their cover of "Shine on You Crazy Diamond," with horn section, has to be heard to be believed. They also effortlessly mix Thelonius Monk covers with musette with James Brown with songs by local artists...

Warnick put on the single best show I've ever seen from him, and I've been watching him perform for nigh on five years now. I think he's finally got the band he deserves, to support his great songspielen.

In friend news, I witnessed Friendster actually working last night, as a pal of mine met up with a pal of a pal of mine, who she met on our mutual network.
