A friend of a friend, when asked "So what do you thiink about Richard Clarke?" sez:

"...I left government, a senior position (equivalent to a Lt. Colonel), due to the bullshit of this administration...suppressing the truth, firing anyone who would publicly criticize or tell the REAL truth about the real state of our nation, restricting who could speak in public or attend conferences/gatherings. The gag got put on us within 2 months of this President taking office. Richard Clarke is doing (clumsily and with an abundance of ego) what I had hoped members of the Senior Executive Service would have done in droves: shown leadership and STOOD UP FOR THE TRUTH. What most of my like-minded colleagues have done is quit. Most of us are not senior enough for the media to listen to us...but literally thousands have retired early or walked away from pensions and careers in protest of the REGIME. And now we can be politically active (if you paid attention in civic class, you'd know that the Hatch Act constrains political activity by public employees). So, I am glad someone (Clarke) had the balls to say something...but I am concerned that how he did so and the tone he used will be used to undermine him and dilute the message that there is something VERY SERIOUSLY AMISS in this White House. THEY LIE TO YOU and then believe their own lies....

And in other unpleasant but possibly truthful news, it looks like maybe, just maybe, those Kurt-was-murdered rumors could be true.
