There are only two boys I trust with regional songs: Tris McCall (who writes about New Jersey, although this mp3 is just purty and not an example of that) and Sufjan Stevens, whose Illinois album is every bit as good as last year's Michigan album. It's a little samey musically, but he's such a colorful and talented songwriter that I'm not gonna complain too hard about that.

Current fave is the title track, an upbeat, jaunty li'l progrock number that makes me consider moving to the Land of Lincoln. And "Casimir Pulaski" is causing me to celebrate my Polish roots, right here in my cubicle.
