At least Kate Bush hasn't attempted hip-hop. I am grateful for that, at least.

The Everly Brothers have a new CD of unreleased tracks from the late 50s/early 60s and it's a revelation.

I have so much respect for these guys already--their comeback records in the 90s were wonderful and creative and not an overt bid for nostalgia, and this old material is presented in a lo-gloss, demo-y manner that highlights great songwriting and heartful vocals rather than the patented Everly Brothers close-harmony sound. In fact, some of the songs feature just one main vocal.

The older songs have a chills-inducing Appalachian feel, and the newer stuff is pop songwriting at its catchiest.
