Did some karaoke (what is the verb--"Played" karaoke? "Committed" karaoke?) at Hope and Anchor last night.

Song choices definitely seem to reflect the cultural zeitgeist. The last time I...perpetrated karaoke, The Life Aquatic was in theaters, and this seemed to result in a lot of Bowie songs. Last night, Walk the Line inspired many Johnny Cash songs and a slew of country songs in general.

Least amusing are the folks who get up and do songs by the popular acts of the day, although that is a good way of weeding out bands you know that you'll now never have to explore. I learned last night, for instance, that the Killers are not a band I need to worry about, based on their single.
