Hey, the Black Keys are charting this week. Way to go, American record-buying public.

The IHOP jury (i.e. the chattering voices in my head) is still in talks about the new Walkmen record.

The songs are wonderfully melodic, freewheeling, joyous, and I humbly appreciate that, especially in a younger band that has every excuse to be dour and derivative like their electro-clash peers.

The production is a little off-putting--very trebly and tinny, and the drums sound toyish. But if you can overlook that, and the singer's unpolished vocals, you will be rewarded with a pretty swell album.
