2007-02-17 - 4:07 p.m. Interesting musical discovery of the day: Silmaril, a Christian psychedelic band from 2Fs country who were spinning their weird Syd Barrett-y webs decades before the Danielsons...Locust is reissuing their 1973 album in a couple weeks. Thinking about "Word Up is Cherry Coke" has inspired me both to have some Cherry Coke this week (it's still not very good, but I guess somebody must be buying this stuff), and to revisit the song "Word Up." I believe Larry Blackmon from Cameo was trying to channel Katherine Hepburn on that song. This is the funniest blog I've seen in ages.
