2007-09-21 - 10:20 a.m. I am enjoying the debut album by the Blakes, who make some good old fashioned garage rock. That seems to be real passion and urgency in the vocals, not some emo-screamo approximation. Warning, however: not sure if the highly pretentious and self-conscious liner notes on the advance CD are duplicated in the retail version, but reading them may ruin the music for you. You know what's not the worst album ever? Keith Richards' second solo album, that's what.
