"...Take it easy on the kid, SilverFox316; everybody kills Hitler on their first trip..."

Thank you to everyone who came out to Banjo Jim's last night, despite rain, war anniversaries, Wednesday ennui, and competing shows right in the 'hood. There really was a lot o' love in the room, and it was exactly the kinda live-music experience that leaves me feeling jolly for days afterward.

Banjo Jim's is run by nice, laid-back people who love music. Banjo Richard and Banjo Lisa were hospitable, helpful, supportive.

The soundguy was totally cute:

Cute soundguy!

The other acts were kind of amazing:

There was James Peter Lee, playing hypnotic space-cum-ethnic rondelets on lap steel and saz, with the lovely Mazz Swift on violin:

Lenny Kaye and his excellent rhythm section played a charming and sprightly set:

Followed by Adam Levy's soulful music-making:

There were not one but TWO dogs in the audience. Here's me and Cookie (and Laura, a human):

Blonde, Brunette, Redhead

And we got paid. (Thanks, Liza!)
