The new Kaiser Chiefs album is a little strange. They seem to be in an experimental mode here, far from the simple, anthemic new wave revivalism of their previous albums.

Off With Their Heads starts off with a big, metallic guitar riff, followed by tuneless art-rock verses, and then the rest of the album follows suit: BIG buzzy guitars, and songs that ramble. I wonder if this was hastily composed in the studio under some contractual pressure, or if the band is sincerely taking off in a new direction.

The last song, "Remember You're a Girl," sung by the drummer, is quite nice, though, like a Wings ballad.

I was pokin' around at MTV's new-ish video site, and found this fully animated Robyn H video. Neat.
