I do think there's a difference between an owner/operator shop, which is part capitalism, and part direct labour, and an absentee owned fifedom with wage slaves, where capital is the only measure and means of interaction.

Interesting. Go on! I am always interested in being coaxed out of my stupor.

well, this idea of direct labour just occurred to me. If you grow your own food and eat it that's not capiatalism, even though the food can be described in terms of monetary value. Similarly, a business can be started by labour which creates value, and can grow, but remain in capitalism but not of capitalism. I'm not anti capitalism, only it's excesses, when the commonwealth is bought and owned, and the price of admission is beyond the capacity of individual effort. When capital overwhelms democracy (which, tho still a process, is, I think, nearly complete). OK, so I doubt this is helping vis a vis your stupor, try more coffee.

The Wife and I walked into the entrance of the Guitar Center on a Saturday, which turned out to be ultra-crowded. I decided not to wade into the mosh pit, so we just kinda stood by the door and went "huh.....it's...large, alright..." As we turned to the exit door the staff asked to check our bags....We hadn't even walked in the dang store yet! I vow to go back to check out amps at a less-crowded time to give it a chance, sans back-pack.
