There's a video that I've seen once on the internet (It's sporadically available on an Australian music site) of Bic Runga performing an amazing cover version of Royal Trux's "Stop." She's definitely more interesting than the average Asian singer-songwriter from down under.

Yeah, the Lilith Fair association put me off her, but I must look beyond that now that many of my favorite female songwriters have played that blasted fest.

Is that the same "blasted fest" that Macbeth was hanging out at? Oh wait - that was a "blasted heath." Speaking of which, I'm still irked that they changed the flavor of Heath Bars several years ago, making them even sweeter and too much so. So, how many other singers can you think of named after a brand of pen?

Well, there's Fontaine Toups from Versus (you know like a fountain pen) and, um, um...

They changed the flavor of Heath Bars?? Oh, this is really bad. Are you sure, "just shakin'", your taste didn't just mature such that the same old Heath Bar now tastes too sweet? I've found that oh so many of my childhood faves nowadays just taste of sugar, preservatives, or factory. It's sorrowful indeed. I have to pay big bucks for chocolates and cakes that actually taste yummy anymore, and I can't buy them at gas stations.

I'm sorry, I've never had a Heath bar except in Heath Bar Crunch ice cream, which I still suspect I haven't really had but have just seen a lot.

I have this memory that the packaging changed - something about new!! improved!!! - and I bought one, and it was different. And this was a time when I bought 'em fairly regularly - it was a sudden change. I think Hershey or Nestle or someone bought them out.

Does Penn Jillette count? I don't think what he does is "singing." Not Michael Penn - last name. I suppose Parker Posey - she sang in "Waiting for Guffman" a bit. I knew a guy in high school we called "Uni-Ball" - but he was tonedeaf, alas.
