I am constantly amazed at how much more my dream self knows and remembers than my waking self (or maybe it just seems that way). Maybe it is true that we're consciously using only 10% of our brains. I've gotta learn to tap into that...

Now I have "Alexander Beetle" running through my head - thanks. I guess it could be worse: I kind of like Melanie, and "A.B." is the kind of song that can't really be damaged by infinite repetition. Last week Warren Zevon "She's Too Good for Me" was stuck in my head for several days, and I didn't like the song as much afterwards. (But when I try to sing the Zevon song now, I'm giving it the melody of "Alexander Beetle"!)

Melanie is pretty cool. I get the sense that she is still completely committed to all the hippie causes she was into back in the 60s--i.e. it wasn't just a passing fancy. And "Lay Down" is a classic.
