...and what, may I ask, were you thinking about as you lay on 'concrete'?...

Nothin'. That's what was good about it.

I too love The apartment.

And I dig the new color scheme. Much easier to read.

Thanks, Adam. I swiped the color scheme from my friend Jeff's homepage. Because information wants to be free.

I agree with you about The Apartment - great movie. However, I can't get on board with the Cary Tennis thing. I can't stand him. I only read the questions and skip his answers. Say what you will about his Salon predecessor, Garrison Keillor (Mr. Blue), but he was the best advice columnist ever. Mr Blue: thoughtful, witty, compassionate, humble. Cary Tennis: glib, cluelesss, showoff. Mr Blue's columns are archived at: http://dir.salon.com/topics/garrison_keillor/

I loved Mr Blue, too, but I really think Cary Tennis is thoughtful and compassionate. And he doesn't just tell people what they want to hear.

I remember reading a letter in a "Dear Prudence" column (Slate) and the identical letter in a Cary Tennis column, and Prudie played right into the letter-writer's hands and told her what she wanted to hear, in a way that IMO wouldn't promote any kind of growth or maturity or insight.

Cary, on the other hand, had an eloquent answer and a quirky but really helpful suggestion.

That's funny - cuz I was thinking, hey, this layout looks familiar...I guess it is! (It's actually my old homepage, so I don't see it that much anymore - nothin' been updated for more than a year there...)
