When my d.s.l. comes back up (Wednesday?!), I'll check this out. For the Fall are my favorite band. Something no one knows. I even brought in This nation's saving grace to rip onto my work hard-drive. Thanks to you both.

My favorite Fall-related story involves Freedy Johnston (of all people) and Brix.

Several years ago, they had met somewhere and were casually playing together for fun, when Freedy--a big Fall fan--found out that Brix, a few years removed from the band and from her marriage to Mark, didn't even own any of the old Fall albums.

So he went out and bought her a bunch, made her listen, reminded her of how good she was and what a great band the Fall were.

After that, she called up Mark, with whom she hadn't spoken in 3 years, and asked if she could rejoin the band.

That's too much! Gotta say, the Brix records, marriage & post-marriage, are quite strong. But everyone's Fall preferences are different, so whatever.

My favorite Fall story is finding out they were in town, & showing up at Brownie's, the day after the arrest. Imagine the sadness! The sort of thing about which people say The story of my life.
