I'm having trouble imagine that keening nostalgia for old songs without the loss and grief mixed in. But then I have a certain tendency to use the emotions of loss and grief in a recreational way.

It feels like a deep knowledge, but past/present/future are all contained within it, not separated out to cause grief. Is that any clearer?

An acceptance of change...yeah that's a good way to put it. It's like having x-ray specs and being able to see a thing or person from their conception through to their end. (And you can see their underwear, too.)

Ha! So it's, like, three parts transcendental and one part naughty.

In a way, there's nothing more challenging than accepting the idea of change. Accepting death is really a subset of that.
