Cadbury World: That little blurb with the schoolteacher saying, "There's loads of well-presented information," seems so British to me.

Actually, I just realized that everytime you load the page, there's a different little endorsement. One time it was a bus driver saying, "It's easy to find your way around."

"And also, there's a lot of chocolate."

If this were an American place, the endorsements would be a tad more sparkly and superlative.

Jeff Lynne is from Birmingham. There should be a special ELO wing at Cadbury World.

Jeff Lynne is British?

Well, sure, but you knew that! For one, is there a more British pop record than my namesake, "Mr. Blue Sky", apart from "Penny Lane"? And also, he was in The Move with Roy Wood. And you knew Roy was British. I mean, how could he not be?

Ah. No, actually, I didn't know he was in the Move, either, or just forgot. I am not afraid to show my hillbilly ignorance 'round here. But I do have The Best of the Move.

Black Sabbath are also from Birmingham. The connection? Bev Bevan from ELO played drums on the BORN AGAIN tour w/ Ian Gillan in '84.

So for the new album, Lynne wanted to put more emphasis on songs and melody. He started writing music with his father in mind, who had always been quite critical towards Jeff's makings. Jeff Lynne: "Me father said to me: your bloody songs are no good, because they've got no tune!" I said: I'll show you a tune. So I made Eldorado, which I did to try and make him love it. And he did love it."
