Mark Ruffalo?! He really isn't that good of an actor, I don't think anyway. He is one of those actors that appears in good movies, so when you think of him, you remember how good that movie was. For example, "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind." He is ten times better than Eckhard, who can't act his way out of a plastic(or paper) bag. . .

Eric, did you see You Can Count on Me? Ruffalo nailed that part--made the character believable.
As for Eckhart, I think he is right for the role I had in mind not because of his acting skills but because physically he fits the part. The character is an ex-jock turned stay-at-home dad.

I think your 'movie boyfriend' is a fine actor and would be well cast in the part, as long as it's understood that Samantha Morton is my 'movie girlfriend'! She's great, easily the best of the actors listed, and if you don't believe it, check out 'Code 46' or 'Morvern Callar' (probably the best movie of 2003 that nobody saw). P., you may be interested to know that she's been cast to play Diane Arbus in a biopic entitled "Fur", slated to come out in 2005.

Wow!! It''s about freakin' time somebody made a movie of Diane Arbus' life, and thank God it's going to star Samantha Morton and not, like, Nicole Kidman in a fake nose.
Although, "Fur"seems to be a more fitting title for a biopic about Merit Oppenheim.
