First solo album that really comes to mind that is one of my favorites from a band that is also a favorite is David Byrne's "The Catherine Wheel". I'm assuming for this discussion, a "solo" album must be followed by releases from the original band. I'm also a huge fan of Pete Townshend's early solo work, especially "Empty Glass". The only reason I'm even considering a solo album is because I woke up Saturday with a nearly finished song running through my head, including all the instrumental parts for the verse and bridge, which was really weird for me, since usually I dream blues guitar songs if at all. I've since had a couple of other ideas, and I do have some time off this month. Unfortunately, my recording equipment consists of cheap PC VOIP microphones, and my instrument skills don't even reach that standard.
