I have to say I didn't find 'Huckabees' especially profound either, but I did it entertaining - just the idea of doing some sort of primer to existentialsim as a romantic comedy (because essentially, that's what it is) made me giggle. I mean we're all used to to religious epics that cram one kind of dogma or another down our throats ('King of Kings' and innumerable others as regards Christianity; more recently "Seven Years in Tibet" and "Kundun" in reference to Buddhism-- "Kundun" is quite good actually), so to strike out and try to do something in that vein, but as light entertainment . . . it made me admire its' chutzpah. I just think it would be better titled , "Post-Modernism for Dummies".

I admired what he was trying to do, too, don't get me wrong. I am delighted when discussions of this nature pop up in movies, cuz really hoow often does it happen. I guess they just...did a lot of tellin', not enough showin'?
I also think maybe it was about therapy.
