I love Amy's Organic Macaroni and Cheese, and mangoes. And avocados, and log cabins, and the Garden State soundtrack, which contains a song by Iron and Wine.

I love hot coffee on cold mornings, flannel comforters on cold evenings, and cold beer any time.

I love my gf, of course, and Pikate hummous which has the consistency of frosting. In fact, some day we are going to bake a chickpea cake and use this stuff to frost it. I love "Sh-Boom" by The Chords, it's fun to sing at karaoke. I love Paul Krugman's column, and I love the N.E. Patriots.

I love my friend Ann. She recently returned one of my favorite books, after I had apparently lent it to her years ago.

I love Guy Maddin -- well, at least I like him a lot; just last weekend there was a retrospective of his films at the American Cinematheque here in L.A., w/ Guy IN PERSON! I asked a few questions at the Q. & A. and got to shake his hand -- I mentioned that I really loved the scores that John McCulloch composed for 'Careful' and 'Twilight of the Ice Nymphs'; he mentioned that if I slipped him my address, he would burn a couple of CD's for me. He didn't have to ask twice. At any rate, I did so, but didn't really expect to get them (or at least not any time soon), but lo and behold in my mailbox yesterday! CD's of both scores from Guy himself. I will have to write him a thank you letter, and try not to be too fawning in the process. The above makes me very happy, so I felt that I had to share.

About the Guy Maddin thing - I love when people who don't have to do so treat me like a human being. That's a good example - another was a couple of years back when I bought an import Sparks CD and it was defective. The online service I'd purchased it from was less than helpful - so I dug around, found an e-mail from the label, and contacted them. Within a day, someone there had gotten back to me and promised to send me a new copy. It arrived (from England) within a few days. Likewise, when the first editions of the reissued copy of Eno's Another Green World accidentally omitted a few seconds from one track, when I wrote the record company, I got an immediate response, promise of the corrected reprinting of the CD, and the CD itself very quickly.
