Thanks, Swee' P. Pink is the new black, so you're cool!

Greg: you don't even know me and I whooped with delight 4 or 6 times while reading "Johnson City". Thank you. Paula: I threw my black weight gloves in with a load of mixed colored stuff a month ago and they destroyed my favorite gray babydoll t-shirt. I have been in the market for pink weight gloves ever since. While I agree - where's the progress? - I'm also glad for you that your laundry mishap was more happily received than was mine.

What, you folks haven't heard of washing cold-water only? Yeesh. More energy-efficient too.

Janet--thanks so much! Funny thing about Johnson City. About a year ago, Paula took a Blog Break and asked everybody to write something including the word Jubilee, so everything has its humble beginnings in the realm of pancakes.

Greg: I remember Paula's jubilee challenge! It happened not long after the demise of a local family-owned supermarket a block from my workplace, tragically named Jubilee Foods. I'm glad you got something much more joyful & lasting out of the exercise.

Janet--I believe I remember you mentioning the demise of Jubilee Foods also, which is funny because I remember being angry about it. Despite my distaste though for corporate juggernauts putting regular folks out of business, I was recently in a Wegman's upstate which is about as large as 2 midtown NYC blocks... I was overwhelmed. Their organic section alone is about the size of a NYC supermarket and about a third the cost of Whole Foods (Whole Paycheck). Oy... now I'm carrying on like a Stepford Wife. I'm so done with NYC supermarkets though.

The irony here is that I did wash one load in cold water and spaced on doing the same with the other. As Brian Eno said (man, I've been quoting this one a lot lately) maybe my mistake was a hidden intention.
