Somehow, I have navigated through this wicked world, this veil (vale?) of tears, without once having heard a Thin Lizzy song that wasn't "Boys are Back in Town."

Yesterday, all that changed.

A pal at work had Jailbreak and a Greatest Hits compilation on his desk, and I borrowed them out of curiosity. I was stunned. Who knew?

And then, the capper: they're Irish! But if you listen, it makes sense--they have that same rollicking sense of rhythm that Van Morrison does, even though their music couldn't be more different.

Phil Lynott's voice is (was) so great, and that twin-guitar stuff just kills me.

Thin Lizzy! Who knew?!
