I'll probably go to that MoMA show next week with Garry's son and grandson. It's too bad there was no intrepid photographer to record your reaction to the reactions...

I think these photos are part of the permanent collection. But I'm not certain, cuz I tend to walk through musueums in a bit of a mental haze.

type his name into google, go to the images, and there on page 12 is the picture your talking about. At least its a picture of a family of three dealing with a large trunk jutting forth....

Wow, good job! I guess the dad looks distant and vague, which is how a lot of dads are.

Here's the photo.

Ethan told me MoMA just put up a new bunch of photos, maybe it's not a show, just some new stuff.

certainly is a look of admiration on the face of the woman in the background. Chicks dig elephants.

Ah, cool--enjoy. The Aquarium photo (I shan't reveal the contents) is also great.

Ahhh yes Garry Winogrand. It seems like only yesterday he was in the parlor, with Dame Edith Evans and Woody and I discussing the phallic representations of pachyderms in Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book. But I digress.

I dunno, Paula, I think you're reading too much, wait, too LITTLE, into it. The presumed mother's look looks like fond, wistful remembrance, the presumed dad's looks like slightly suppressed smugness, and the hopefully-not-daughter, whom you didn't mention, is giving the dad a look that cries out for child services. I mean, she looks more troubled than the boy. Anyone remember the children's book "The Stupids Step Out", about the Stupid family? This one appears to be "The Phallic family".

Bob, you are now obligated to write this book. It is your destiny.
