Isn't it?

I should mention that it was made by the talented Erin Klauk.

I love those two Keith records... just solid rock and roll. Actually, I liked Ron Wood's solo stuff too. Was never even vaguely into any of Mick's solos though.

Erin Klauk. I really love her work. Think she'd do the next Beefstock poster?

I could axe her.

I wonder if the Blakes have ever played a show with the (old) Dealbreakers?

Yeah, at their best those Keith albums (and the Winos overall) hit on a groove as bottomless as a black hole. And while Mick-bashing is always fun, I'd say on at least the occasional solo song he achieves honest gut-wrenching emotion in spite of his best and most strenuous efforts to remain flip, shallow and trendy ("Don't Tear Me Up," for one). (And don't Mick play rhythm guitar on some of them early Woodie records?)

Philip... I don't know about that. I've actually seen Mick play guitar and he's not bad (saw Roger Daltrey play guitar once also and he's good as well--just connecting vocalists there). I just never cared for the Mick solos... there was something too overdone on them, and it wasn't even him really. I saw a Woodie all-star thing at the Bottom Line years ago (if memory serves it was the bottom line). It was a big fun rock and roll fiasco. Sloppy and loud...

Oh, Greg, I think you're 100% right about the solo albums. And Keith is my hero. But I just like to occasionally remind...(who?) remind...myself?...that Mick too was once a musician with a heart and a soul and all the rest of it!

Philip--One of my favorite Keith solo projects was Wingless Angels, which wasn't him really but a bunch of nyabinghi drummers in his living room, beating drums and chanting down Babylon... It's not what you would call quality reggae music, but it's a captured moment... very intimate and cool. On occasion you hear Keith in the background cackling or passing a comment. I like to put it on for those blobbing braindead moments.
