Oh my - I do hope that "Heaven on Their Minds" is the song from Jesus Christ Superstar. And the cover of that CD...is Hipgnosis still in business rockin' that freaky, use-the-gatefold-to-separate-seeds-n-stems, '70s aesthetic? Queensryche...sorry guys, can't be bothered with the fake umlaut. And the band isn't even from Queens.

I think that Dylan songs lend themselves so well to covers speaks well for their quality. There are quite a few Dylan covers I like better than the originals, but I do love the originals. Don't love everything he's ever done though but probably more than half, and that's saying a lot. I feel the same way about Beatles songs in regards to covers--but I generally like many of the covers better than the originals--I will go to the grave not understanding why I've never been particularly moved listening to a Beatles album. It's a mystery to me.

Rolling Stones songs lend themselves to great covers also. A couple years ago UNCUT put out 2 CDs worth in one issue of the magazine. Some of it is just devastatingly good--one of my favorites: Faust's cover of Sympathy for the Devil.

And the band isn't even from Queens. But they are from the Queen City.
